We will be back again and again. Melissa White 21 Dec The hamburgers are varied enough from each other that each tastes like a distinctly different dish, rather than simply like the same burger with different toppings. Both the beef and the bison is fresh enough and of such high quality that it can be eaten cooked medium, or even medium rare if you prefer. Additionally, they have an extensive selection of beers on tap: local, regional, national, foreign, pilsners, ales, porters Whatever your preference, odds are that they have something to suit your tastes.
I would recommend The Cove to anyone looking for a casual dining experience without sacrificing the flavors of fine dining. As a side note, this is definitely a kid-friendly restaurant, but this enhances rather than diminishes the feel-good atmosphere, as there is a wonderful playground that is safe both for play and for the ease of supervision it allows.
It is within 20 yards of the dining tables, far enough to not be a nuisance but close enough to know your children are safe with a casual glance in their direction.
Joseph DeNoia 03 Jan This is a great place to hang out and listen to live music and grab a quick bite to eat. The staff was extremely friendly. There's plenty of room for large groups indoors and outside.
MARKET YOUR Merchandise.
There's a small play area for small children and dogs are welcome. Elizabeth Casias 03 Jan Great place to hang out, grab a beer, grab a bite, listen to music. Bring the kids there is a playground, bring the dog there is a dog run, everyone is welcome here. Great atmosphere to meet up with friends. The food is amazing Angie Altpeter 07 Jan Hard to find a better place to go when you want to get good food, have access to a crazy amount of beers, and let your kids run wild on the playground.
We eat here often because they offer food options for gluten sensitivities that don't suck. Love to just go sit outside when the weather is good and enjoy the evening. NOTE: If you're going to go hang, get there early. Parking is kind of a bear and when it fills up it takes awhile to get your order in and may be hard to find a table because everyone else goes there to sit around awhile. Jason Palmer 11 Jan Great place to go eat with a few friends and the kids! I wish they had a full bar. They only serve beer. They have fire pits and a heated outside seating area.
I would definitely recommend. Priscilla Arguello 14 Jan Beautiful place. The live music can be entertaining and you get to a group of interesting people. First time at The Cove last night. Burgers were excellent although overpriced. The atmosphere was amazing as was the live music performance of Anthony Wright! Family and dog friendly, festive, and all around fun place! I'll definitely be going back and bringing my family and friends to enjoy live music and good food at a great place. Leon Sikora 27 Jan Friends took my daughter and me here last night.
The food was decent overall - good fries, burgers, and no-meat options for my vegetarian friend. Nothing exceptional considering the price. The salsa was terrible though tasted like plain black pepper, lacked in flavor. Seating was not great as a couple long-running parties took up all of the tables near the playground and bar and the covered part of the patio.
The beer selection and atmosphere saved the experience for me. The kids had fun at the playground and my friends and I enjoyed the live music and outdoor fire pit. Crackberry cider was delicious and bartenders friendly. And it was pretty cool to find such a dog and kid-friendly spot. Will come again when I get the chance.

Heavan Hart 27 Jan Heavan Hart 29 Jan Such an amazing place to go during the winter and the summer. They have ample shade coverage, huge fans, and misters everywhere. During the winter the space blocks the wind and they turn on the long overhead heaters during the evening. Healthy and delicious food, amazing beer selection, smoking section, dog run area, private party area. Yeah, I love coming here.
Quilliam Berns 08 Feb I love The Cove. It is a unique Texas combination of a laundromat, car wash, dog wash, bar and restaurant.

I recommend it to visitors as the kind of place that epitomizes Texas. Old signs, hundreds of beers along the bar, long picnic tables with rolls of paper towels on them, and always great local bands. The food is unlike anything you'd expect in a place like this. They have organic, gluten free and vegan choices, as well as things like bison burgers, fish tacos get the shrimp tacos of you cant handle spicy food , and fresh salads.
They have a huge outdoor area with a playground and dog watering stations. It is not a quick in-out place, but one you'll want to hang out for a while to listen to the bands and relax in a friendly atmosphere. Krista 14 Feb The cove has the best seafood tacos! One shrimp and one fish taco with there silly little spinach salad with a great dressing just seals the deal for me! My husband enjoys the angus burger with delicious sweet potatoes fries! Nothing bad to say about this place people are nice, atmosphere is nice!
And pet friendly! Alma Casias 14 Feb Took two Great Dane's to eat lunch because they are dog friendly. Great food and atmosphere. The playground for kiddos was a good idea too. Joe Munguia 24 Feb What a great place. It is good for families, children, individuals or couples.
This facility has it all. Even though it was chilly there were many many warm heaters above. It reminded me of being somewhere in Europe where families get together with children and talk and drink and share time together. Their beer selection is fantastic. My wife enjoyed the wine. To top it off they had live music which was very good. Jack Gilbert 27 Feb A very unique place that has organic locally grown food. We had the bison burger and lamb burger both were excellent. I also had the warm beef salad which was amazing. They have a great selection of beers and live music.

Had a great time. Their fish tacos are truly out of this world and some of the best I've ever had. Every time I visit, I want to try something else on the menu but their fish tacos just keep calling me back! Great beer selection and outdoor patio. This is a family-friendly restaurant, so if you're not keen on drinking your beer with some kids around - this isn't the place for you.
I love the Cove and will definitely be back. Meg Sween 06 Mar I really can't say enough about this place I've been coming for years. I have Celiac and they offer plenty of gluten-free food selections and desserts. Nachos, naked burgers, and multiple gluten free selections of cider. I love coming in the summer and kicking back with friends and good company in the atmosphere.
It is dog friendly as well and connected to a laundromat and car wash. Angela M. Mora 07 Mar What a great place to visit! My family came here after visiting the Museum of Art downtown and had heard the Cove was a good spot for the kids something for the adults and something for them. The suggestion was spot on! The Cove really does show it understands parents- the outdoors tables are all circled around the playground and the area is mostly enclosed with a fence to stop a wayward 4 year old.
The food wasn't bad either- hamburgers and fish tacos were good, but not quite great. The patty was well cooked, but the bun was slightly soggy. So why not 5 stars? I guess if there are three things to look for in a kid-friendly restaurant playground, food, price , then The Cove has clearly selected the first two to focus on. That's not to say it wasn't a great way to cap an afternoon out with the family, but not somewhere we will be going to frequently. Andy Chesley 14 Mar However, line moved quickly and so was our food order. We had the bison burger my first time , spinach quesadilla.
Both really good. Enjoyable live music was icing on the cake. Ruben Marrufo 16 Mar The Cove is my happy place. The food is amazing - my favorite burger is the Gouda burger. They have a great selection of beer - both draft and bottled. The best part is the playground. My almost-two-year old has as much fun on the playground as the older kids. He can easily and safely climb, play, and slide on the structure. My kiddo loves the kids cheeseburger and fries.
Plus they have free kids meal with purchase of an adult burger on Tuesdays! The line to order food gets really long during these periods, but they do a surprisingly good job of keeping the line moving fairly quickly. Still expect to wait in line minutes during these periods. Also parking can be a challenge during busy periods.
They do have people to direct you to alternate parking spots when their lot is full, which is helpful. Constance Bosche 18 Mar A gem within San Antonio!!! A great burger and a great location. It is a very relaxed atmosphere but it still maintains excellent service. The burgers are fantastic and the beer selection is large and varied. It has a large playground outside so it is very kid, family, and pet friendly. It's only down side is despite the kid friendly atmosphere they allow smoking in the same space as the kids. This would cause me to never bring my children here.
Also, the parking is terrible. If those aren't game breakers this is a fantastic restaurant.

Sean Hanlin 22 Mar This place is a heaven for veggie folks. I have been back here for the lamb burger, awesome local ingredients, and friends as there is no other spot in SA that offers this much veg variety. Draft beer selection was good. Sweet potato fries and ginger ale are to die for. Other than that it's good hangout spot when it's not burning out here in SA. Sourav Patnaik 24 Mar The food is exceptional, and the atmosphere is amazing.
So nice to have a playground for the kids to occupy them. I love that they source their food locally and the meat is grass fed. The sweet potato fries with the spicy mayo are unbeatable, and the burger is fresh and cooked to perfection. For the price point, they should definitely be friendlier. Elizabeth P 31 Mar Burgers and fries both thick cut and the sweet potato fries were cooked to perfection and seasoned well. Nachos were also very flavorful and well made.
Not a bad meal in the restaurant! Lots of beer choices and the sangria was awesome! Good to see they have kept up their standards over the years and is a great gathering spot to meet up with friends and family to spend a weekend afternoon read more. Chad Roasa 01 Apr One of my favorite places in SA great food and big selection of craft beer. Overall great atmosphere to hang out at after a week of work or quick place to stop and grab a drink.
Frequently have live music gigs and cool kids play area. Can get pretty busy so beware. Doug Lynch 06 Apr First time going. We chose to sit out on a patio area. Started out in the sun but moved to a shared area when a table became available. I had a shrimp taco and a fish taco. Each came in a blue corn tortilla that fell apart when I tried to pick it up. Sure could have used a fork. The coleslaw was tasty with just the right amount of dressing. The fish taco I've had better. The shrimp was good.
Tried to get a rita. They only serve lots of different beers and wine and drinks made with wine. There was a list of tasty sounding teas but stuck with water. A live band was playing as we left.

Betty Kleiss 19 Apr Large outdoor patio with playground for kids. Most patio covered. Outside bar huge draft beer option. Order inside. Mostly burgers though there is fish tacos and salads and vegan options. I've been twice. The original menu was more vegan. I ordered a "Real" burger. Very good but not cheap. French fries are really good! The second time I went Friday evening they had live music. It was a cold day but they had outdoor heaters so we were confortable. Casual place and good for large groups small groups too.
I recommend! Nelson Galvan 11 May We went to The Cove for an early dinner. Ordered the Naked Burger, which was cooked perfectly, an order of sweet potato fries, and we had the Hummus app to begin.
Everything tasted delicious. I love that their food is locally sourced! Their staff was also very friendly and made us feel very welcomed. Live music, good drinks, great times with family and friends, and great food. Augustine Sanchez 16 May Good stuff. I got their BBQ vegan burger with a side of sweet potato fries. Wife got their shrimp tacos. Velolife was set up on the site of an old pub as a cafe and bike workshop in by entrepreneur Lee Goodwin in the small hamlet of Warren Row in Berkshire.

Something RBWM should be supporting given what fantastic mass participation activity cycling is. An injunction, seen by the Telegraph, was later sought against the cafe and local clubs threatened with enforcement action after cyclists were said to have met at the cafe in January.
